Lou graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Flute) from University of New England in 1995. She then went on to combine her love of music, people, community and wellbeing by studying a Graduate Diploma of Music Therapy at University of Melbourne, becoming a Registered Music Therapist in 2001.
Lou has been working as a Music Therapist for 5 years, in various fields; however, she particularly loves and sees the enormous benefits of using music in early childhood intervention and development. Lou is a Session Leader for Playgroup QLD’s Sing & Grow program and is available for individual music therapy for young children. Lou also shares her compassion by volunteering on the World Vision Kids Hope Mentoring program in a local primary school.
Amongst Lou’s other roles and experiences, she has been teaching English as a Second Language in Japan and Australia to both children and adults for the past 8 years.
With over 14 years experience working with children in various roles, Lou is thrilled to be the session leader for our Labrador and Coomera Springs groups in 2016 and the entertainer for Music with Monica birthday parties.
